SEPTEMBER 16, 2024 — The International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) expresses our deep sorrow at the passing of ICMEC’s Emeritus Board Member Professor Victor Halberstadt on Friday, September 13, 2024. 

Throughout his life, Professor Halberstadt bridged the gap between scholarship and practical application, impacting governance, politics, and the cultural sector. His contributions to ICMEC as a long-time board member and more recently, Emeritus Board Member exemplified his commitment to safeguarding children worldwide, furthering ICMEC’s mission. Professor Halberstadt’s dedication to public service and advocacy for children will continue to inspire our work across the field of child protection.
