The International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children and ECPAT International team up to provide free, online learning to equip “Agents of Change” with the knowledge and tools to combat the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
The International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC) and ECPAT International – Ending the Sexual Exploitation of Children, have collaborated to create a free online learning series called the “Agents of Change.” This critical training program will equip child protection advocates in law enforcement, criminal justice, social services, and civil society with the knowledge, vocabulary, and practical tools to effectively prevent and respond to child sexual exploitation and abuse.
“Children all around the world are being let down by the lack of understanding of frontline workers on how to adequately support and engage with child victims of sexual exploitation. With our course, we want to contribute to the solution and make that specific knowledge available to everyone who wants to learn.” Thomas Mueller, Acting Executive Director, ECPAT International
ICMEC President & CEO, Bob Cunningham stated, “Our hope is that this free, online series will make information about child sexual violence widely accessible to child advocates around the world. By equipping champions for children globally with the most effective tools to prevent and respond to child sexual exploitation and abuse, we will move one step closer to creating a safer world for every child.”
The course features the combined expertise of more than two dozen child protection experts from across the globe presenting on topics including:
- the human rights of children
- an introduction to violence against children
- child sexual abuse
- understanding the offender
- supporting children through a victim-centered approach
